On the eve of Remembrance Sunday, we present a programme of meditative music to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the armistice which marked the end of hostilities in the First World War. The music ranges from pieces by contemporary British composers such as Elgar and Parry to folksongs and popular songs of the times. Also featured are works by composers from other nations involved in the conflict: Pizzetti (Italy), Rachmaninov (Russia), Ravel (France) and Reger (Germany).
